Moving Sucks!!!!!

Quick Update.....

We are in Boise and wiped out. Trying to figure out how to get out of this hotel without falling asleep by noon. Friday night we didnt go to sleep until 4 am getting stuff done (Ladd cleaning out his office which is like a home its self! and me trying to sleep but thinking about all the stuff I had to get done the next day) And then we woke up at 6 am to get stuff done.

We were late getting the moving truck and when we showed up to our home at 9:15am on saturday I felt the love from our Tremendous!!! Ward with lots of people there ready to help! (You guys are all awesome and thanks for going the long haul with packing the truck)

Speaking of the truck, that was a crazy time! We had this gigantic 26 foot truck that I thought for sure was going to fit everything....We had the Whole house packed, EVERYTHING was in boxes and we thought we could get out of here by 11, but my worse nightmare came true...we couldnt fit everything! So we spent 4 extra hours trying to fit what we absolutely couldnt part with and taking the rest to storage and fitting everything else in the van. The van is carrying a heavy load and I have been worrried it is going to pop a tire if I go over any bumps....

So here we are trying to get the energy to drive on to Salt Lake and get their safely....

So 2 hrs of sleep and driving across country....Not my idea of fun.

More updates later....

More from the Alien Invasion....

I resisted posting these pics with my orginal post, but couldnt resist any longer.....Hopefully I still have my friends after this. Thanks again everyone for making it a great night. I will definately miss the future parties after we move. We will be there in spirit and I expect to see pictures!

Sorry I couldnt remember everyones roles....

The Town Mayor and his Wife

I cant remember what Jodee was but Ronnie was the "former FBI Agent" (I think)

the "current FBI agent" and "Astrologist"

some kind of "theory guy" (I think) and the "Abducted" one
The "town gossip" and the "Doctor"
the "Journalist" and the "Alien" who was absolutely hilarious!!!!

Breaking Dawn and other updates.....

Yes, I did end up going to Barnes and Noble at midnight to get Breaking Dawn. I only had to wait for an hour. Ladd and I went and saw the late showing of Mama Mia(great show) and then walked next door to join the crazy teenagers to get the book(Ladd was a trooper and made sure I knew how much he loved me because he stayed with me the whole time, he even offered to stand in line himself so I could sit in the car and deal with the nausea)...Was it worth the wait? Yes it was! I finshed the book today and it was just as good as the others and turned out how I wanted it to...I would have finished it yesterday...which brings me to other news...IF you havent noticed the side of my blog with that half human bouncing around in a bubble...I am pregnant, 9 weeks and in the peak of morning sickness! UGH, I am most annoyed because I had to keep putting Breaking Dawn down to keep from throwing up. I missed church today and layed in bed all day sick to my stomach. I am grateful I havent thrown up yet, unlike my past pregnancy's where I am throwing up all day.

Lily and Landon

My sister gave us a surprise visit with her 6 mth old twins last week....
My kids fell in love with them...especially Miles. Sorry for all the pics...they are for my mom!

Alien Invasion meets Murder Mystery

We went to an Alien Invasion party....to figure out why the circles are showing up in the town crops. We had lots of fun and laughs throughout the night. Ladd was the town drunk and I was the county sheriff. The mayor called a town meeting to order over the concern of the circles and to figure out if we were being invaded by aliens.

Thanks Matt and Alisha for a great night of fun....

I know when you think of Kansas....

the first thoughts that come to mind are flat, brown wheat fields....

But before you laugh, or give me a hard time....Dont. Because I already have....when Ladd told me he accepted a job offer there this weekend. (And cried and cried and cried)

But I am making the best of it. We told the kids tonight, Lauren cried and cried and cried and screamed and said NO!

But she is now ok with it and making the best of it.

So where in Kansas? Actually right on the border of Missouri, in the suburbs of Kansas City, Missouri. Ladd said he felt like he was at home when he got there this past Friday. He fell in love with the place and says I will too. It is green with lots of trees. He said downtown is covered in fountains galore and it is the most fun downtown he has been in.

Their is tons of stuff to do with the kids. We will actually be living in Overland Park, KS...a place that has some of the #1 schools in the country and is repeatedly named by CNN money one of the top places to raise a family in the country.

The church is strong there with lots of members. I am excited to be around a lot of the church history sites...including Nauvoo being 3 hrs away.

Lots of shopping. Housing is CHEAP compared to Issaquah.

I am going to make the best of it, but am soooo sad at the same time. We have been in Issaquah in the best ward ever for almost 6 years. I have many good friends in our ward and am grateful for the blessing my bishop gave me a few weeks ago that said that I will have lifelong friendships from this ward. What comfort that brings to me right now!

This is a dream job for Ladd and I am excited for him to be home more often and not worn out from running a business. We will have much more quality family time together. He is beaming right now at this opportunity and I am grateful that we can make this happen.

We feel very blessed right now and feel the Lords hand in our lives and I am grateful for His guidance and assurance that this is the right thing for our family right now.

So when? School starts early there...Aug 14. I am having a hard time seeing us there by then, but hopefully be the end of August. We will see!

Memories....

I got this from my friends Melanie and Lisels blogs....

I know a lot of people are doing this right now, but I've had fun thinking about things I haven't remembered forever and posting memories.

Now I want to see what other people remember, here are the instructions:

1. Add a comment on my blog, leaving one memory that you and I (or Ladd, or both of us) had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.I can't wait to read your memories!!

4th of July Weekend....

I think its about time to post about our 4th of July weekend happenings....

My sister and her husband and son River decided to come up and spend the weekend with us. We went camping at a ranch our Church owns about an hour up Snoqualmie Pass. We had a great time on the HUGE slip N slide, canoeing, playing in the river, swinging on a cool rope swing and they even had a firework show for us that was quite impressive for a ranch! We had a great surprise when we first showed up. Ladd saw one of my nephews running through a field....it turns out my X-brother-in-law was there (I still consider him part of the fam) with my 5 nieces and nephews and his wifes 4 kids. Their campsite they originally reserved didnt work out and our campsite we originally reserved didnt work out and they ended up putting us right next to eachother without us even knowing. So it was like a mini family reunion. My kids had a great time with them.

Here are some pics from our wonderful weekend....

Isabelle didnt like the slip-n-slide

Miles "break dancing" for us when we did skits with everyone

I've Been Thinking....

Last week Ladd had a call from someone based down in Ft. Lewis who was hit by a IED blast that left him a paraplegic. He wanted to know if Ladd could help him or if he knew of someone closer to him that could.

I have been thinking about this man. What he has done/served/sacrificed/lost for our country. I have never talked to someone who has served in this war or who has lost someone from this war, etc. However, I have been really sad after hearing about this man.

No matter what your opinion is about this war....and believe me, I have some very strong opinions against it(and President Bush for that matter, but I wont go into that)--I am grateful for these men and women, their spouses, children, mothers, fathers, siblings who love them and support them and for the daily risk they take of losing their lives!!!! I am grateful for the sacrifice they have made and continue to make everyday.

I hope that everyone takes a moment every day and thinks of them and prays for them!

Just my thought for the day!

"A Boy's Windowsill"

Miles came to me the other night when he was already suppose to be asleep for an hour and said, "Mom, come see my windowsill...its a boys windowsill!" Thought I would share.

Back yard Friend?

Thought I would post our little back yard friend. He is usually with a baby and another full size one. He did come right up to our sliding door today, but didnt get my camera out in time....

Busy Week!

This was a crazy busy week with school ending and I am glad its Friday. Lauren had her end of the year Gymnastic/Ballet/Tap show on Wednesday. Parents could go into the gym and be up close and take pictures. Before her show, she had her end of the year picnic with all the 1st grade classes at the park. Thursday was the last day of school and we ended the day at Chuck E Cheese with some other familes from our church. It was lots of fun and I kicked Ladds behind at the "shooting basketballs" game. Here are some pics of our week...

Oh yeah...And its finally warm here. up to 75 today...even a little too hot for my liking. But its about time and I am not about to complain because I dont want to get zapped with more rain. I will have to get out and take some more pics of the beautiful area we live in to remind me of why we live here when it starts raining again.

Our Monkey....

We were at the park today for Laurens end of the year picnic party (along with 7 other 1st grade classes and their siblings and parents....I think their was about 400 kids there, and it was insane). Miles kept asking me if he could take his shoes and socks off, I kept saying "no", he kept asking, and finally I said "why", he said "because, its a surprise, you will see". I said "fine, but dont come crying to me if you get splinters in your feet" and went about my business of talking to some friends. The next thing I knew, he was screaming for me to "HURRY AND TAKE HIS PICTURE". I originally couldnt find him until I looked up......

This isnt a short swing set.....

Climbing up it again....
